NordVPN Wireguard on unRaid

So if I read it right, NordVPN with wireguard is now natively supported. That is great and thanks a lot for that. So far I could not find posts how to set it up. I guess I should put my private key etc. in the empty field of the unRaid config.
How do I get those informations? Private Key, Public Key Adresses etc.?
Is there a post you could maybe link me to? Or would you mind exlpaining it?

I managed to recieve the private key. What else do I need to set up? If I jsut enter the private key, I wont get a connection.

I want to go back to OpenVPN since I could not get wireguard running. I did not change anything and the credentials are correct. I double checked them. But since then I always recieve te following error(s).:

Your credentials might be wrong 🤨

Regarding the openVPN connection. I had the same issue a while ago. NordVPN seems to have changed what credentials are needed for authentication. Previously you could use the same username and password that you used to login to their website. Those no longer work. You now need the Service credentials.

Login to the website and go to https://my.nordaccount.com/dashboard/nordvpn/. At the bottom there will be an option called Set up NordVPN manually. The next page will have two accounts. You will need the username and password from the "Service credentials (manual setup)"

Looks like the "access token" is used for Wireguard. Im also trying to get that to work but i keep getting the "private key is not valid: wgtypes: incorrect key size: 48".

Follow this get guide to get your Wireguard Private Key for Nordvpn.

Install wireguard client :
sudo apt-get install wireguard

Then connect to Nordvpn with the official client on Nordlynx protocol.

Then :
sudo wg show nordlynx private-key

Thanks. I also found some similar instructions to get the private key. The pod is now running but it seems I have another issue, that looks DNS related.

how, could you explain me how did you get the wireguard keys? im still unabale to find them

@sebastianvelezg, you can retrieve the private key through a Linux terminal when you are connected to the wireguard server. I used this instruction: https://forum.openwrt.org/t/instruction-config-nordvpn-wireguard-nordlynx-on-openwrt/89976

Make sure that you got the following software installed. Try it on a test VM first:

wireguard
sudo apt install wireguard

curl
sudo apt install curl

nettools
sudo apt install net-tools

nordvpn
sh <(curl -sSf https://downloads.nordcdn.com/apps/linux/install.sh)

After then you can use the terminal to login to your nordvpn account:

• sudo nordvpn login
• sudo nordvpn set technology nordlynx
• sudo nordvpn c <-- connects you to a server, use "d" to disconnect
• sudo wg showconf nordlynx <--- shows the config with the private key

Let me know if you got more luck getting it to work. I seem to get a DNS or Gateway issue after a few moments.
