When is a stable release due?

@abergs version 4.0.0 has been in beta for over 2 years. Do you have any plans to make it GA (removing the beta flag)?

Is there any specific reason its still beta?

Yes, a there are plans for a stable release.

The reason we keep pushing beta's is because we would like to do a couple of significant changes in the 4.0 stable -- and we want to limit the amount of churn/stable versions we ship.

With that said, I think we'll ship a 4.0-stable without some of the breaking changes we've been planning (MDS API etc) and schedule those for a 5.0.

However - there is nothing stopping you from running a beta in prod, they are not of lesser quality.
