Some thoughts after starting using the plugin

Great job, Patrick.
Thanks a lot for what you've done. It'd be great if Omeka was supporting multilanguage, but this is a great start.

I've just installed the plugin and I'm using it with Italian and Esperanto languages on Public side and just Italian on Admin side, and I've thought/noticed the following:

• Simple Pages: it would be useful to be able to keep the same title for a translated page, in some cases; the slug could be different and actually identify the different pages;
• Simple Pages: when I tried to create a new page as a translation of the previous one, the "locale" dropdownbox was not enabled and I first had to save the new page with some filling text and then edit to finally be able to choose the language (it'd be easier if I could do it the first time);
• Admin/items/browse: some of the possible actions (like Edit, Delete, Details) come up in Esperanto, even if I have them translated into Italian AND I'm using only Italian for the Admin interface;
• Admin/items/edit: the page offers me to translate the text in both languages; it would probably make more sense if it was detecting the locale of that language and hide the link to the same language, leaving just the other(s);
• Admin and Public: if flag is missing (in my case, the Esperanto's), just an empty space is left in the interface, but one cannot really see something should be there; I suggest it might make sense to replace the non-existing flag with the language code (in my case, EO); actually, an option in plugin configuration to choose between flags and language codes would be great (see http://www.flagsarenotlanguages.com/blog/why-flags-do-not-represent-language/, f.i.);
• Navigation Menu: needs a way to be translated too;
• Plugin Settings: no matter what I do, I seem not to be able to select just "Description" as a field, it seems that automatically "Title" and "Subject" get selected too; I could agree about Subject, but not necessarily about Title, as that should stay the same in every language (after all, a book in Italian doesn't change its title only because I'm describing it in English or Esperanto).
