Populating Metadata Fields with Existing Frontmatter

I am not sure this is an actual Issue so I am posting this here.

I have a Markdown file with a Frontmatter section. I dropped the file into the Editor as usual and it rendered as expected except for the Frontmatter. I expected the Frontmatter fields would automatically populate the Metadata Fields. It did not. Given the results, my assumption is that this was never the intentional function. Or was it?

Are the Metadata Fields supposed to do what typical Frontmatter does?
Is dragging and dropping a Markdown file with Frontmatter and having it correctly apply to the Metadate Fields a realistic expectation?

no wasn't implemented like that. But actually, sounds like a cool addition.
I haven't had it on my mind.

Not sure I read the original request right, do you mean Metadata in HTML Headers?

Frontmatter, as it renders in the raw Markdown file. In the LeafWiki GUI it would be the Properties section of the expandable Metadata panel at the top of a page. Just below where one would enter tags.
