I really need some help

Hi everyone, i am as biggest of a noob as you can be when it comes to self hosting, literally just started today, now, i understand it is difficult, but you undersold it )).
So my main problem is about the GPU, my laptop has a integrated GPU and a dedicated one and i spent hours trying to get this to work but i just cant, whenever i go in the cookbook it dosent detect it and even if i get one model it cant run without it, i did manage to bypass this by getting the models in ollama and using that to run them in odysseus, an they work but a lot of other functionalities of this project dont, like the memory for example.
I looked around for fixes, tried all i could, but i am lost. And even google gemini couldnt figure it out.
I am using the quick setup with docker and Ollama.

Please dont bully me too much, i did all i could but unless i actually get someone with experience i feel stuck.
i can provide any info that you may require to get to the end of this so please land a hand.

odysseus (and cookbook) is running inside of a docker container.
the docker container doesn't see your gpu (by design) without specifically giving it access (passthrough).

you could try looking up how to enable passthrough and all of that, or perhaps try to install onto windows natively (not docker).

Probably also worth noting - projects like this have a LOT of bugs in the early development stages (it's expected). So if you're running into a wall with something not working - it may just be a bug that's getting ironed out still, dont beat yourself up for not knowing everything day 1. :)

Thanks for the help i guess, with your response and some commands from gemini i managed to solve the gpu issue, something to do with the compose file.
now the only problems i could find are that Memory dosent work, i have talked to some models, had some converstions and yet no memories saved (and it is on, i would be ashamed if not)
also not sure how agents are supposed to acces the calendar for example, not sure if i need to set up something prior but a simple add this to the calendar dosent seem to work for me in case someone knows about it.
The memory issue would be my biggest currently.

Auto memory extraction has been iffy for me, if that's what you mean with memories saved. I've also struggled with getting it to search the web and editing my calendar, the agent often doesn't seem to know it can do those things.

One thing that helped me is asking the agent "What tools do you have?". It often reads the Python functions that come with Odysseus. Bringing that into context helps, especially when you're about to ask it to modify your calendar or look something up. That sometimes works for me, I've also seen it create skills automatically based on what I ask it, which also helps it do things faster and stops it from making mistakes in the future.

Make sure you have everything set up on the Settings tab too, like having your calendar properly connected, that could also be the issue.
