When I have the Data view active (indicated in the lower left corner) with a cell highlighted in the Data tab, hitting s doesn't result in any change to the ordering of the rows. Changing columns and hitting it again also doesn't have an effect, nor does hitting it multiple times. S similarly does not have any apparent effect.
