Today, I'm so pleased to announce pH7Builder, v18.1 as the latest stable release!

Why We Skipped v18.0
This release jumps directly to v18.1, skipping v18.0.0. Two years ago, we released v18.0 beta 1 and beta 2 while continuing to update v17.9. To avoid confusion between those beta releases and a new v18.0.0 stable version, we’ve moved straight to v18.1.

pH7Builder v18 "REVOLUTIONARY™" is a major stability and security release that addresses critical bugs affecting production systems. This release represents the culmination of comprehensive bug fixes, code quality improvements, and security enhancements.

  1. Fixed Infinite Loop Causing Browser Crashes (#1186)

    • Ajax activity tracker was creating exponential intervals
    • Browsers would freeze after idle time
    • Impact: CRITICAL - Users unable to use the site

  2. Fixed CSS/JS Loading Failures (#1163)

    • Gzip handler now gracefully handles file load errors
    • Prevents 500 errors from cascading
    • Impact: HIGH - Broken layouts and functionality

Authentication & Access

  1. Fixed MFA Blocked During Maintenance Mode (#1152)
    • Administrators with 2FA can now access site during maintenance
    • Two-factor verification page no longer blocked
    • Impact: HIGH - Admin lockout prevention

Form Validation

  1. Fixed Registration Form Date Validation (#1177)
    • HTML5 date inputs now have proper min/max format
    • Birth date validation works correctly
    • Impact: HIGH - New user registrations
