Renaming a profile sticks now. Renaming a console user updated the name
everywhere except the PS5 home screen, which kept showing the old name after a
reboot — even though the console still said the new name was "already taken."
The rename now also updates the home-screen display name so the two match, and
your avatar is left untouched. (Verified end-to-end on a real console.)
No more shutdown moving a game from an external SSD to internal. A
cross-volume move falls back to a local copy, and the faster copy path added
in 3.1.4 could flood the kernel with un-flushed writes during a multi-GB game
and panic the console. The copy now flushes on a fixed cadence so that backlog
can't build up. (Stress-tested with a sustained multi-GB copy on real
hardware.)
Package installs stop claiming success when they didn't. On FW 12.x an
install could be accepted and then fail in the background, leaving a
"corrupted" tile while the app showed "Installed." The app now waits for the
install to actually finish and surfaces a real error — pointing you to the
PS5's own Package Installer — instead of a false success. The Cancel button
can no longer interrupt a real install mid-way either.
Android: bug reports and exports save again. Saving a bug report, crash
bundle, settings / search / stats / log export, or save-data backup failed on
Android ("No such file or directory"). They now land in your Downloads folder,
each with its own filename.
A pile of reliability and UI fixes. Switching consoles no longer leaves
stale info on the Profile, Hardware, Screenshots, or Upload screens; failed
exports now tell you instead of silently doing nothing; the USB autoloader no
longer gets stuck after a failed scan; the command palette scrolls to keep the
selected item in view; .rar uploads land in a correctly named folder; the
engine re-extracts itself if its file goes missing; and the settings backup
now captures every preference (and stops losing your play-time on restore).
Plus internal fixes to large uploads, the transfer engine, and broader
translation coverage.
