3D - Mind Map

Hello Mr. Williams,

I’d like to propose a simple idea that could make Minder stand out: an optional 3D visualization mode. There are already some attempts at 3D mind mapping (Thortspace, InfoRapid, Mapster, even parts of Obsidian), but none are really convincing:

• Mapster often auto-generates everything with AI, which removes user freedom.
• Others are too complex, outdated, or workflow-heavy.
• None combine simplicity, clarity, and modern UX.

Minder already has the right philosophy: simple, flexible, user-driven. It feels natural. What’s missing is only the spatial dimension. The goal would not be replacing 2D editing, but adding 3D maybe purely for:

• visualization
• spatial understanding of clusters
• exploration

So: 2D for editing, 3D for seeing (and maybe editing, too).

If implemented with the same elegance as the rest of Minder, this could become a unique and defining feature, especially on Linux, where there is currently no mature solution.
