I ran into quite a bit of confusion around why my mock wasn't working, which it was doing silently. I just couldn't get it to register. After some code diving, light reading, and head scratching, the light bulb finally went off.
This PR merely saves the next poor sot who wanders along and trips up on the same concept issue.
