This screenshot is extremely helpful,

To give some additional information, the Backups directory that you are seeing is backups of your production/Pieces folder, seeing how your Pieces folder is rather large ~4GBs

This does make sense, how this can scale rather quickly. I looked into our backup logic, and we keep up to 10 backups(then we start pruning the older database backups), which is roughly 40GBs in your specific case.

That being said, we would love to learn a bit more about how you're using Pieces and help dive a bit deeper into this issue on a call here.

In the meantime, if you want you can manually remove any of the backups within the production/Backups/Snapshots folder.

I am by no means a long-time user (I started on August 7 last year)... maybe due to high usage frequency? especially across many apps and on dual screens. Pieces recorded these activities and screenshots, which ultimately led to the current state, i suppose.

I scheduled today’s meeting.

4 GB × 10 equals exactly 40 GB — sounds good. Thank you for the clarification.
I do not plan to delete these backups; there is still sufficient space on the C drive.

With regard to screenshots, these should never be persisted, so thinking maybe there is something else going on that is leading to the data bloat.

I thought of another possible reason: In China, there are two commonly used social software apps, one is QQ and the other is WeChat. They generate huge amounts of chat text and image data every day. Perhaps Pieces stores them verbatim?

I think about the changes from last year to this year. One is the installation of some new software, and the other is the addition of some new group chats. This may be the reason. Maybe I should remove these more "life" group apps from pieces' LTM. Because they have little to do with work.
