Release 0.9.4-dev.13

Release: 0.9.4
Build: 0.9.4-dev.13
Stable behavioral baseline: 0.9.3

Summary

0.9.4-dev.13 is a pre-release cleanup build. It does not change the qualified BLE, renderer, Carousel, AnimatedGIF, PSRAM cache/prefetch, automation or external-buzzer behavior.

The cleanup removes the historical Rescale checkbox from native S3 HUB75 profiles. Automatic WLED 2D output scaling already maps 16x16, 32x32 and 64x64 logical content to the configured physical matrix, so exposing the old low-memory storage mode on Waveshare/MatrixPortal was redundant and misleading.

Changes

  • Added IDOT_LOW_MEMORY_RESCALE as an independent compile-time capability.
  • Waveshare and MatrixPortal S3 HUB75 profiles set it to 0.
  • Those profiles omit the rescale configuration control and force stale stored values off.
  • Classic profiles that still use the RAM-saving storage path keep it available under the clearer label Low-memory canvas downscale:.
  • Automatic final-output scaling remains unchanged.

Waveshare evidence

  • dev.12 telemetry smoke: gifStage bytes:49799 peak:49799 attempts:1 ok:1 fallback:0;
  • source cache/prefetch remained healthy (entries:4, gifPrefetch 3/3, zero fail);
  • 16x16 logical -> 64x64 physical: PASS with Rescale disabled;
  • 32x32 logical -> 64x64 physical: PASS with Rescale disabled;
  • 64x64 native path: PASS.

MatrixPortal boundary

Only the Rescale UI/capability cleanup applies to MatrixPortal in dev.13. Waveshare PSRAM stage/cache/prefetch defaults remain disabled there until the physical 2 MiB PSRAM baseline is measured.

Smoke gate

Confirm build=0.9.4-dev.13, no Rescale checkbox on the native S3 profile, correct 16/32/64 automatic scaling, and unchanged healthy GIF cache/prefetch diagnostics. No soak is required.
