Homebrew Codex Unrecognized

Codex unrecognized when Homebrew install, even when path explicitly added in settings. App seems to lock up and hang, and is extremely slow, not sure if this is because it's having issues locating Codex CLI. Leaving settings takes a full 10+ seconds (MBP M2Pro 16GB). Resetting codex path and resetting does not resolve Codex provider status error.

Seeing both issues (homebrew path / extreme slowdown) also after fresh install. Unsure if the Homebrew setup is causing the slowdown.

Was able to sort the PATH issue, but still seeing extreme slowdown / hanging. Most actions (clicking prompt streams, entering text in prompt box, etc) delayed by ~2-5 seconds on M1 Mac 16GB. Sluggishness not occurring on other apps (IDEs, Chrome, Claude Desktop app) which are concurrently open. Slowdown making app use unusable atm

Can confirm I have this exact issue with homebrew installed codex and the path put into the config box.

you need to run codex at least one and do the auth stuff to get this error away (without setting the paths)

Can you run 'which codex' in bash,zsh, fish? Perhaps you have two installs one with homebrew one with smth else. And maybe t3 app is using something different from ur default!?

@BirdInTheCity Thats very interesting that you are seeing a slowdown.

Can you do a few things for me to see if it helps?

1. Fully uninstall from brew. Run a brew cleanup command after to remove dangling files.
2. Remove the ~/.codex dir entirely.
3. Clean install codex via brew
4. Open codex once and do the auth etc.
5. Ensure you have the latest T3 Code app.
6. Try now

@binbandit Welp... this is embarrassing. Realized I had the x64 version installed instead of arm, hence the slowdown. RIP

Glad you fixed some of the slowdown! I'm on Arm64, slowdown seems fixed with updates (except initial load times seems slow still, but after load, no more navigation slowness issues), but Codex CLI path issue remains (just to note, manually set codex path in settings is correct and is set in $path correct, and logged in correctly, been running just fine in terminal/ghostty for months, used daily, T3 Code only issue.)
