XDG directories

Please add the following XDG directories as users shouldn't be bothered by them showing up:

$HOME/.cache
$HOME/.config
$HOME/.local
$HOME/.thumbnails

This is not the correct way to do it. The first three have a matching environment variable:
.cache → $XDG_CACHE_HOME
.config → $XDG_CONFIG_HOME
.local itself is not an XDG dir, but .local/share is → $XDG_DATA_HOME

Excluding $HOME/.thumbnails doesn't make more or less sense than excluding $HOME/.*/
