If you want to give Synctrain opportunity to sync files, then yes, use "Synchronize for a while". You can put this in a loop to extend the time easily. I would also suggest to trigger a Rescan at the top for the relevant subdirectories, to ensure Synctrain picks up any local changes quickly. |

Hi there - I stumbled upon this thread while troubleshooting issues with iOS changes not being propagated out in a timely manner. In my testing, simply creating an automation that uses the built-in Synctrain shortcuts (Rescan + Sync) is not enough. I had to create my own custom shortcut that sort of packages Rescan + Sync together. No repeats were necessary. I could then run my custom shortcut in an automation (in my case, on open/close of the Obsidian app). This seems to work. I can't really see why this is necessary, and I can't help but feel like this sort of manual patch is doomed to flake out eventually. It's a sort of "fly in the soup" of what's supposed to be that invisible Syncthing magic. Either way I'm glad Synctrain exists, and the we owe a huge debt of gratitude to @pixelspark. Hopefully there will come a day when iOS background sync is in a happier place. |
