[Bug]: Perplexity overrides Complexity when I do a search

Describe the bug

When I visit perplexity.ai, I see the complexity interface, as desired. But when I click "new thread" and start a search, the page reverts to the perplexity interface: side-by-side panes, no copy or share buttons below the response, the new complexity computer icon at the bottom.

Also, on the complexity interface, if I click on one of my older threads under "recents", the search comes up with the complexity interface, but when I click on one of the newer threads, where perplexity overrode complexity, then that thread comes up with the perplexity interface.

Bug confirmation

• I am not able to reproduce the issue with the extension disabled
• I have re-installed the extension and the issue persists

Expected behavior
