E-Paper Desk Calendar — MAKHEX build log

Current status: Blueprint, not an electrically or mechanically qualified kit.

Purpose: Create an infrequently refreshed paperlike date display.

Candidate bill of materials

• 1x /esp32-c3-supermini — Controller
• 1x /epaper-29 — Display
• 1x /usb-c-power-kit — Bench power

Proposed build milestones

1. Select the correct e-paper driver library.
2. Render a static test pattern.
3. Synchronize time and timezone safely.
4. Use correct refresh intervals and full-refresh maintenance.
5. Measure sleep current before battery testing.

Improve this guide

• Suggest validated supplier or component substitutions
• Share board revision and software environment
• Post reproducible firmware builds, wiring diagrams and measurements
• Document errors, successful tests and unresolved risks

Engineering caution: Panel ghosting and burn-in may result from incorrect refresh behavior; consult module documentation.

Please be specific and label unverified approaches.
