Ambient RGB Clock — MAKHEX build log

Current status: Blueprint, not an electrically or mechanically qualified kit.

Purpose: An addressable LED time and status installation.

Candidate bill of materials

• 1x /esp32-c3-supermini — LED controller
• 1x /ws2812-leds — Pixel array
• 1x /usb-c-power-kit — Prototyping tools

Proposed build milestones

1. Budget current draw for worst-case LED brightness.
2. Test a small number of pixels on a correctly rated supply.
3. Use common ground and correct logic levels.
4. Synchronize time and impose brightness limits.
5. Add strain relief, diffusion and failure tests.

Improve this guide

• Suggest validated supplier or component substitutions
• Share board revision and software environment
• Post reproducible firmware builds, wiring diagrams and measurements
• Document errors, successful tests and unresolved risks

Engineering caution: Never source LED strip current from microcontroller GPIO.
