When will Pop!_OS 26.04 be released? Will there be an installation image for the ARM architecture?

There is not a concrete date for 26.04 yet. It based on Ubuntu 26.04, so that will need to be released first.

The current plan is to have ARM ISOs, just like we currently have for 24.04.

There is news that Ubuntu 26.04 will be released in April 2026. How long will Pop!_OS 26.04 be delayed? Will Pop!_OS 26.04 use COSMIC-epoch2?

a quick update on the release of POP!_OS 26.04 would be cool, since Ubuntu 26.04 just released.
All I ask for is a general timeline: days, weeks, months? Just to know what to expect

There is not a release date to announce, but the current target is in the range of a couple of months.

Time to go to a new release-numbering system, since people logically enough expect the major number to be the year, and the minor number to be the month based on all of the Ubuntu-esque bits in Pop! OS.

(It's still possible to say "based on Ubuntu yy.mm" somewhere, but it seems misleading to talk about Pop! OS 26.04 if it's not coming out in anywhere close to April 2026. Waiting for Pop! OS 24.04 was misleading enough.)

The core is still Ubuntu, and the repository is still 24.04 or 26.04 based. A different numbering system will be even more confusing for new users. it generally easier to look up something for ubuntu than for pop, as it is the basis for many distros and is one of the most popular distros (perhaps most popular on the desktop)

The main reason the numbering system has (and will, for the foreseeable future) stayed matching the underlying Ubuntu version, rather than being different for Pop!_OS to reflect the actual Pop!_OS release month, is for script/app compatibility. Lots of apps and scripts still target Ubuntu without specifically attempting to target Pop, and they expect to see known Ubuntu version numbers.
