How to set NES provider?

I am currently logged in to Posit AI (free trial) and GitHub Copilot (Pro), both providing NES.

When using Posit Assistant, it is clear which provider and model you can select. However, I cannot figure out how to select the NES (Next Edit Suggestions) provider.

My settings.json shows that GitHub NES is enabled. However, there is also another set of settings that indicates NES is enabled.

This confuses me — there seem to be two settings to enable NES, perhaps more? How can I select the NES provider? ...
I was unable to find instructions in the manual. Could someone elaborate on this, please?

Hey @jnsbrtls! At this time, if you are signed in with both GitHub Copilot and Posit AI for NES, it's not currently very easy to tell which provider is offering the completions. Essentially, the provider that offers completions faster is the provider that "wins".

We've got #13932 tracked to improve this. In the meantime, you'll need to refer to Output pane logs to verify which provider offered completions, which would be the Next Edit Suggestions channel and the GitHub Copilot Chat channel.
