Very low quality of Posit AI Next Edit Suggestions

I know Posit AI's NES are still labelled as preview, but in the past, features with this label were mostly usable. NES are not, in my experience. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but since there aren't really any settings I don't see what it could be. github.copilot.enable is { "*": false } so I'm sure they're the suggestions from Posit AI – also, Copilot's suggestions were never this bad.
Often they're not only nonsensical, but also not even syntactic. Look at this for example:

This makes no sense. Often NES want to insert four (!) backticks in random places. I was hoping the update to version 2026.08.0 would improve things, but it didn't.
Are others having a better experience?

I have experienced the random four backticks myself, @uhkeller! Thanks for this feedback; we'll see if we can dig into this.

Thanks for your response @juliasilge, I was beginning to doubt my sanity. I think the documentation should really mention that this is not ready for prime time yet. The "preview" label is hidden in the settings. From the documentation I fully expected this to be on par with, if not better than, GitHub Copilot.
