No this is not related to a problem. It's more of a missing feature.

I noticed with a recent Postman update that you added Type (default/Secret) for global variables.

However, I was really surprised that this option wasn't available for collection variables

I think having this option for all variables would be a really great idea.

I did check out the roadmap, but didn't see anything that could be related to this feature request.

This is a feature I was surprised to not see as well and would greatly appreciate. This ability is perfect for data that persists across all environments of a given collection, such as the same Auth token for the collection (secret would then be in collection) but a different base_url for dev and prod environments (base_url would be in environment variable). Would reduce redundancy and increase security by storing the secret key in one place.
