Design Goals

Original Design Goals Outline for the design. Some of these goals have changed over time. So the plan is to update this with some of that stuff before turning this in.

1. Frequency range
   • 12 – 16 MHz
2. Modulation types, e.g. (AM, FM, SSB, etc.)
   • Emphasis on FT8
   • Potential for SSB, CW, AM support
3. Cost
   • Approximately 30 dollars or less
4. Minimum discernible signal.
   • The number of microvolts from a 50 ohm source
5. Size and weight
   • 6 in by 1.5 in by 1 in.
6. Power requirements
   • ~12V, < 1 A (less than 12 W).
7. Special software and computer requirements
   • Windows machine, existing software.
   • Software allows for oscillator and RF filter control. 8.Special Features
   • The current objective is to ensure a SDR receiver works, with potential for modifications from there.
