Platforms: Web (any browser)
License: Engine open-source (MIT); hosted server-side cleaning for PDF/video/audio is proprietary — flagging this upfront
Business model: Free tier (no account needed); paid tier for bulk/large files
What it is
Shows the metadata hiding in a file — GPS coordinates, camera and device details, timestamps, author fields — and strips it losslessly before you share it.
Why it may fit here
Photos (JPEG/PNG/WebP) are processed 100% in the browser: no upload, no account. Verifiable in DevTools — no network request carries the image. The exact code that touches your files is the open-source engine linked above: pure TypeScript over Uint8Array, zero dependencies, no canvas re-encode (image bytes are copied verbatim). It strips EXIF, XMP, IPTC and C2PA / Content Credentials.
Being transparent
PDF, video and audio cleaning runs server-side (files deleted immediately after processing) and that part is not open source. For photos — the main privacy use case — everything runs locally and is auditable.
