Closing window does not terminate programme. [GNU/Linux]

Ahoj,

I use robrix version v1.0.0-alpha.1 on GNU/Linux, using your precompiled AppImage-build.

After closing the window after having it run for over an hour and seeing the issues mentioned in #885, the CPU utilisation goes down, but the programme still not terminates:

In the terminal where I did start it the error messages I reported in #885 keep coming and I am not returned to shell.

hi @dreirund, thanks for the two issue reports! I think both the CPU utilization and failure to close the window are Makepad-specific issues, but i'm happy to track & tackle them here since I also contribute to makepad heavily.

Can I kindly ask you to do two things to help us narrow down the cause?

1. Build the latest version of Robrix from source and run it on your machine (basically just install deps and then cargo run, the instructions are in the readme).
2. Share the full log with me, either here or via email (kevinaboos@gmail.com) if you're hesitant to share publicly. There shouldn't be any sensitive information in the log, though it will reveal which rooms you have joined.

Basically, I want to ensure that this (1) wasn't already fixed, and (2) isn't an AppImage-specific problem.

Will do it later, since "cargo" always is such a hell (both with compilation times and lots of dependencies it pulls in from the internet while building). Regards!

Done. Created an Arch Linux AUR package robrix-git (↗ build recipe) and built it.

Did run it, my observation:

• Issue "Closing window does not terminate programme." does not occur in that build!,
• Issue "Keeps utilising CPU core at 100%, and not finished syncing even after more than one hour. persists, as well as the error messages of failed JSON deserialisation persist.

I am also not fine of sharing my identity, rooms I am in, and so on with Google (you use Gmail) or just with anyone I don't know.

Can you add a privacy respecting logging feature that does not log any information about own Matrix ID, Rooms, contacts, keys, etc.?

Otherwise, can you say which exact parts of the terminal output you would like?
