Netgear WiFi card network error with CFD version 1.37

There is a problem with the current compact flash driver 1.37.
Connecting to a wireless network using EasyNet Pro and my wireless PCMCIA network card does not work.
This is the card I am using...

EasyNet Pro will not detect any SSID of any network using the prism2.device driver.
Earlier versions 1.36 and below did not have this problem.
I changed the flags in the mountlist but nothing seemed to make any difference.

Would you require a log report?
If so, how would I go about creating one?

Thanks for the report. Since I can’t reproduce it locally, the most useful next step is getting debug output via serial line so I can see whether compactflash.device is doing anything “extra” when a WiFi PCMCIA card is inserted/used.

Please capture serial debug logs with the full compactflash.device build and Flags = 8, for both CFD 1.36 and CFD 1.37. Insert/use the WiFi card, boot, then reproduce the problem. Attach the full serial log from boot through the failed scan.

Please do the same (third) test with compactflash.device 1.38-dev (22-01-2026). I have an idea what might be going on, but I’m not sure yet whether this will help.

I tested the new 1.38 dev driver.
Works no problem.
EasyNetPro prism2.device now works as expected.

I haven't got a serial null modem cable and I wouldn't know where to start regarding a debug log.

You can use a DB-25 (female) -> DB-9 RS-232 adapter, then a DB-9 RS-232 -> USB adapter connected to a PC or laptop. Using a terminal program like PuTTY or screen, you can capture the RS-232 output and simply copy/paste it into a text file.

I tested the new 1.38 dev driver.
Works no problem.
EasyNetPro prism2.device now works as expected.

Great to hear that the 1.38-dev driver works. That confirms my suspicion. I’ll simplify/refactor the fix and send you a newer build to retest soon.

I refactored/simplified the fix in compactflash.device 1.38-dev (23-01-2026) please re-retry it.

Tested version 1.38 (23-01-2026) and works fine.
EasyNet Pro prism2.device still works well and SSIDs are detected.
