How do you insert a &amp into a document and have it make the & sign?

A workaround i used for inserting greek symbols into a word document is the 'chr()' method in python. I used it in combination with the string format method and it worked fine. I think this should work as well for this case, you only have to figure out to which number the & sign corresponds in the chr() 'list'

You could simply translate all &amp's in a fragment to & or the Unicode equivalent via re.sub. docx inserts & with no issues at all. Same for Greek symbols - use utf coding, that works.
