Extracting information from docx file(text including inline images)

Hello all,
I am trying to use python docx for extracting particularly formatted data from a file which contains both text and inline images. Can someone please suggest an approach for doing so?

You might take a look at my fork at https://github.com/DKWoods/python-docx .  I added code to handle reading images a couple of years ago (release 0.8.6).  Steve wasn't interested in merging my changes into the main repository. I haven't had time to update the code for the latest releases in the main branch, but that should be fairly straight-forward. David
