Formatting settings should not bounce mypy-daemon

I was looking at having the mypy-daemon share its existence inside and outside of my editor, such as in vscode. But one thing I noticed is that vscode will pass in quite a few extra args:

--no-color-output --no-error-summary --show-absolute-path --show-column-numbers --show-error-codes --no-pretty --show-error-end

All except --show-error-codes --no-pretty will individually force the daemon to restart with Restarting: configuration changed. These all seem cosmetic, can the daemon avoid bouncing when these flags change?

Just for context, daemon restarts whenever any of the option values change (ref, ref). The reason --show-error-codes --no-pretty don’t cause the daemon to restart is because those flags correspond to the default option values.

I assume you’re using the mypy vscode extension? If so, you could try avoiding the daemon restarts by ensuring that the options being passed to the daemon inside and outside vscode agree. From the vscode side, that can be done by adding some flags to mypy-type-checker.args in settings (these flags are passed to mypy after the default ones, so they’ll take precedence over them (ref)). A good way to ensure that options match in both cases would be to use a common --config-file.
