Between libtorrent 1.x and 2.x, which one is considered more stable now?

Hi all, which libtorrent version is considered more stable now? FYI I'm on Windows 10.

I read some conflicting opinions about it, which is why I decided to ask here. Thanks

v1. Especially when it comes to libtorrent in general. LB v2 shows the dilapidated state of software where newer versions end up drastically inferior.

Lastly, as of qB 5.2.0 beta1, most of the UI in the web client is broken using LB v2 in qB (or missing). Which ultimately leads me to wonder even if LB v2 was an improvement, the entire torrent space doesn't have oodles of coders to go around, so what good is something if nothing makes use of it?

Stick with v1. v2 introduces a SLEW of issues that most projects that use it, don't have the resources to fill. There is nothing v1 can't do for 99.9% of users and is perfect example of don't fix what ain't broke. But coders gotta code, amirite!

That is totally different client that doesn't use libtorrent at all.

Maybe you're confused about various difference between torrent files and libtorrent versions?

If you see issues or things you wish to get improved in competing torrent client, then report it in correct place, not here.

Then create a issue report if you see any regressions with latest beta.

Sometimes you need reset preferences, try different browser or reset your browser cache if notice any issues, regressions or anomalies and sometimes better to first try latest stable qBit before trying any pre release or development builds.

Just because websites you visit don't force or offer v2, i2p or torrent files with large piece size, then it doesn't mean there isn't or shouldn't be anyone using torrenting client that supports it.

Libtorrent v2.0 and v2.1 series is developed more often than v1.2 series and no clue if v1.3 will ever be made available to resolve many old issues.

If you notice any issues with libtorrent v1.2+ then there's a chance you can't reproduce with libtorrent v2+ and sometimes you need to change default settings to make it work more stable.

If you haven't noticed issues or limitations with libtorrent v1 then just keep on using it and let others who for various reasons need or wish to test libtorrent v2 use that, then there's higher chance someone reports found issues or helps to get both become better for everyone.
