I first want to take this opportunity to thank the devs, testers, and any/all other contributing folks. I've been using qB for ... no more than two weeks and I already think I like it more than the other decaying, poorly maintained torrent client I stuck with for years just because it was the devil I knew.
Also, please forgive me if I've missed a howto or faq on this functionality somewhere else. I've tried searching, and failed.
My OS is Ubuntu Jammy (22.04.5 LTS), but I think this really probably could apply to all users.
I'd really like it if there were buttons/options somewhere in the webui (maybe they exist in the desktop app, but I don't use that) to export and import a user's full configuration, at least as far as options settable in the interface go.
The reason this has come to the forefront for me is I've gotten qB set up and running fine under my user ID, and now I want to set up a separate user to run it as a systemd unit. I'm very familiar with doing this for other programs, including the old torrent client I used to use. I got the user set up, and got qbt-nox to run just fine for the first time with the disclaimer and all. But then I was faced with a "blank" UI, and having to manually, laboriously re-enter all my customizations and configurations.
I figured, in 2026, for a mature piece of software, this couldn't possibly be the best - or the only! - way to handle this.
I tried copying the ~/.config/qBittorent and ~/.local/share/qBittorrent folders to the new user, but that just resulted in an error web page that said PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR.
Am I missing something? Surely there's a better way to do this than the error-prone, slow, manual search and re-entry of each and every setting I've changed?
Thank you all very much for your time.
