Generic devices: new page for the box symbol wizard (pending PR #1418)
Re-shoot the screenshots in English
English is QElectroTech's interface language since PR #1390, and the
English pages name it in English, so their screenshots are now English
captures of current master (bdeef6d30): 47 re-shot, the wire-hops
comparison relabelled, the fillet picture's radius dialog replaced.
Captions say what the new pictures show, and a few page lines that the
new pictures contradicted now match the program (Clean project, the
edit window's Undo button, search words align/centre).
The two dark-theme PLC table pictures are unchanged: with
QElectroTech's own dark colour the disabled Type boxes stay light on
master too, so an English after-picture would not show the fix.
Recipes: tools/wiki-shots/retake.py in the docker harness.
Drop the pending notices for PR #1378 (merged)
Name the interface in English on the English pages
English is QElectroTech's source language since PR #1390 (merged
2026-10-08), so the English interface shows English labels. Menu,
dialog and button names on the English pages were French with an English
gloss; they now use the exact English labels from the program
(lang/qet_fr.ts read backwards), and the glosses are dropped.
The Configuration menu is Settings in English, and the keyboard_control
mnemonics follow the English labels (Display Alt+A, Settings Alt+S,
Help Alt+H). Screenshot captions still describe the French captures
they show. The -FR and -DE pages are unchanged.
Scale element (PR #1378, pending): grid page section 4 + element editor cross-link; terminals-on-grid claim corrected; customise notices removed (#1363-#1365 merged)
Wires per terminal: remove sections for closed PRs #1274 and #1276
Wires per terminal (discussion #1158): new page, pending PRs #1271-#1276; links from sidebar, Conductors, Preferences, element editor
Screenshots for script buttons, live mode, macro recorder and the merged features documented today (from the PRs' own captures; recovery-dialog path masked)
Document merged features that had no wiki coverage
Symbol editor background frame (#1164); configuration files and remembered
dialog sizes (#1166, #1165); ranked-list search option (#1083); crash-recovery
copies and crash reports in the FAQ (#1167, #1013, #1031, #1181); double-click
wire colour and one-text-per-sheet applying at once (#1172, #1191); cabinet
thumbnails (#1170); linked copies on paste/duplicate (#997); second click in a
group (#1110); align icons (#1153); uuid lookups for sheets, tables and symbol
texts (#1098, #1114); database filled from the document (#1142); value
suggestions and text-width handles (#1021, #591).
Call a folio a sheet, as the English interface now does (PR #1216)
Prose only: page URLs (folio_links, navigating_folios), image names, code,
XML tag and variable names, and French menu names are unchanged. Readers
arriving from older forum posts are told a sheet used to be called a folio.

Navigation: zoom and pan reference, Centre on cursor (pending #1190); drop merged #1159/#1161 notices
Corrects the zoom/pan text in user_manual, tips_and_tricks and mouse_modifiers
against the source: the plain wheel zooms, Ctrl+wheel scrolls, Space rotates
rather than pans, the bare +/- keys do nothing, and the menu path is
Affichage > Zoom adapté.
Document the terminal name check (PR #1159); drop merged #1152 notices
Add grid size and element size wiki page
Explains the diagram grid settings, how the element editor rounds
saved element size to a multiple of 10, and why element sizes still
vary widely across the shipped collection (no formal size "scale"
exists, unlike model railway gauges).

Deepen the element editor and Search & Replace pages
Both documented less than their subject. The element editor is a whole
second application in 137 lines; Search & Replace listed six conductor
fields where the code edits nineteen.
Element editor, four new sections from the source:
- the Parties and Profondeur panels, and the X/Y readout -- with the
gotcha that the parts list stops generating past 200 primitives and
shows a count instead, which is a setting
(elementeditor/max-parts-element-editor-list) rather than a limit on
the element;
- getting drawings in and out: import an element to resize, import DXF,
export SVG, and reload, which warns before discarding changes;
- read-only editing, and that Save as is the way out;
- reshaping handles, pointing at mouse_modifiers rather than repeating
it, since Alt turning a rectangle into a polygon matters most here.
Search & Replace: the conductor row now lists what applyChange()
actually writes, and says what it does not. Cable and Bus are the only
conductor properties it skips, in both the simple and advanced paths --
which is precisely the field you would want to rename across forty wires
at once. Linked to discussion #934, where adding them is item one.

Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01CaKympWT3owLotCpEN2CFj
Document using the element editor -- drawing tools, not just the resulting XML
sources/editor/ is ~22,900 lines and the only wiki coverage was a stub
telling readers to see the elements_XML reference for 'designing element
graphics' and 'defining connection terminals' -- which documents the
file format an element becomes, not how to use the editor that draws it.
element_linking already covers the master/slave/terminal semantics; this
covers the tool itself.
The finding worth having written down: width, height and hotspot have no
input dialog at all. ElementScene::toXml() derives them from the drawn
geometry on every save -- bounding rect rounded up to the next multiple
of 10 (with a quirk: a remainder over 6 rounds up an extra ten, which is
exactly the 42-to-50 example elements_definition_attribute.md already
used without explaining where the number came from), hotspot centered
in that box. And if the drawing doesn't straddle the scene origin,
centerElementToOrigin() actually moves every primitive on save, not just
the saved coordinates -- draw far from the crosshair and a save visibly
shifts everything.
Also: the checkElement() validation that runs before every save (0
terminals warns but doesn't block, except folio-report and
conductor-definition elements, which must have exactly one or the save
is refused); the Save vs Save As vs Save As File distinction (opened-from
location vs a collection picker vs a raw file picker); and the terminal
placement shortcuts (Space rotates through the four orientations while
placing, the tool re-arms at the same orientation for a row of pins).
Replaces the empty 'Creating Custom Elements' stub in user_manual (all
three languages) with links to this page, element_linking and
elements_XML instead of a four-bullet list pointing at one reference
page. EN/FR/DE.
