I tried to create a new quarto document in Rstudio, through File >> new file >> quarto document .
Error occoured as mentioned in the title,

I believe this is an issue with the RStudio IDE. Which version are you using exactly ?
And which version if Quarto ?

If you are willing to test this further, you could try latest Quarto version (https://quarto.org/docs/get-started/), and latest daily version of the IDE (https://dailies.rstudio.com/). Last release or preview of RStudio IDE would also be good to test if you have an older version.

hello , I think there maybe something wrong with the character. you may see another issue #2184
Here is the backgroud, I am using the latest verison of Rstudio(2022.7) , quarto(1.1),reticulate(1.25) ,R (4.2.1) . I tried the daily version of Rstudio (it does not launch)
A few weeks ago , I used older vesion of Rstudio and R, all worked very well. Then I updated Rstudio in order to use quarto document. But error occoured as mentioned in the title.
Then I uninstalled all the older documents related to R, e.g R(4.1.0), Rstudio and the libraries, after that , reinstall all these to the latest version. But still many erros:

First, messy code in the Background Jobs panel when installing necessary libraries.

Installing 'reticulate' for Python/Reticulate...

Then I tried to render the .qmd document in VS CODE, error like this :

I thought those erros may have some relations.

PS: As the solution in issue #2184 , I replaced the "⍝" by "\u235D" in line 784 of local hooks.R D:\programfiles\quarto\share\rmd\hooks.R . Then I could open and render .qmd file in Rstudio, but still can't create new quarto document. Can't load reticulate or run python code.

In my other laptop, I couldn't create quarto document either in the beginng, but all solved after the uninstallation and reinstallation.

hello, this issue solved.
It's the system default unicode probelm.
I changed the system default unicode "CP936" to "utf-8", then all solved.
