data update every X minutes

Hi!

I am developing a dashboard in which the data is updated in a short period of time.

I am accessing the data through SQL Server and would like to know if it is possible to update the data on a scheduled basis and if this is the best way to work with data updated in real time in Quarto.

Here my take on this, but you should also ask in those other places for the community:

I see two ways:

• Either work with non-interactive document, meaning the computation happens at rendered time. In this case, you would call quarto render each time you need to update the data

• Either work with server / client logic by using interactive document using Shiny (https://quarto.org/docs/dashboards/interactivity/). This will mean that you can serve your rendered document, and have the data shown in it be updated because R or Python will be run at each updated, and will update the table or the graphic component. Easiest integration with Quarto is shiny.
