v1.0.1

Updates the bundled Pi runtime from 0.87.0 to 1.0.4 (pi-ai and pi-coding-agent).

The repository now checks for new Pi versions daily, verifies compatibility, and opens an update PR for manual review. Future Pi updates reach installed apps through new Side releases.

Install

Download Side-1.0.1-arm64.dmg, open it, and drag Side into Applications. This release supports Apple Silicon Macs (arm64).

Automatic updates

Side 1.0.0 checks for this stable release at startup and hourly. Side-darwin-arm64-1.0.1.zip contains the signed app archive used by Electron's macOS updater. The bundle ID and Developer ID match 1.0.0. Update-service caching may delay discovery.

Validation

  • Typecheck, lint, session and reasoning tests, and bundled Codex OAuth passed.
  • App and ZIP-extracted app passed deep, strict code-signature verification.
  • DMG signature and disk-image checksum verified; SHA256SUMS.txt is included.

Distribution status

The app and DMG are Developer ID signed. Apple notarization is not configured, so Gatekeeper may block installation on another Mac. End-to-end installation through the updater has not been verified.
