Installing sysreqs does not work on ubuntu-arm64

The that for devel-arm the call to pak::pkg_sysreqs does not error, but does not find any sysreqs.

I think the difference is that I use a aarch64 binary repos. Can you try with:

options(repos= c(CRAN="https://cran.r-universe.dev/bin/linux/noble-aarch64/4.5/"))

Perhaps the behavior is expected when not using official CRAN, I don't know.

If it is only happening for aarch64, then it is surely a bug.

It happens because pkgcache uses the file names to match the sysreqs to the packages: https://github.com/r-lib/pkgcache/blob/28b57af278de04b300ab0c46a3107f14b19c521d/R/packages-gz.R#L139

I am not sure why it would be architecture dependent, though.

I think on intel, the p3m packages get precedence over r-universe.

Btw. if you keep SystemRequirements in the PACKAGES* metadata, that's used automatically. That way you can support sysreqs installation for non-cran packages as well.

Thanks, that is good to know. May have to do some sanitising to prevent PACKAGES from getting corrupted because some users put weird characters in the SystemRequirements.

OK I added a SystemRequirements field now, but based on server analysis instead of what the package has:

• https://r-spatial.r-universe.dev/src/contrib/PACKAGES
