Unified API Build

This solution is the only control that solves a major missing part of xamarin forms, and that is custom map pins and clickability. I'm new to Xamarin and was excited about this solution as it worked perfectly within it's components. When I added it file by file to my solution, which has the lastest Xamarin.iOS.dll, it wouldn't compile.
Thanks you in advance if this is something that is possible to do relatively easily.

I've had to step away from Xamarin development a while back, so I don't currently have a valid license to check it out, but if you can provide me with the error message you are getting, I might be able to point you in the right direction.

Here's the original message I placed on Xamarin forums the other day.

I just downloaded the sample custom map render from raechten/BindableMapTest.
The project loaded in VS2013 just fine and ran on the iOS simulator. I wanted this custom implementation in my XF project, so I carefully copied all the files, folder structures etc... renaming all the namespaces and everything resolved except one issue that I can't seem to resolve.

The compiler throws this error when trying to compile the iOS project:
The type 'MonoTouch.MapKit.MKMapView' cannot be used as type parameter 'TNativeView' in the generic type or method 'Xamarin.Forms.Platform.iOS.ViewRenderer<TView,TNativeView>'. There is no implicit reference conversion from 'MonoTouch.MapKit.MKMapView' to 'UIKit.UIView'

This is coming from this line in ExtendedMapRender.cs.
public class ExtendedMapRenderer : ViewRenderer<ExtendedMap, MKMapView>

I don't get this error in the BindableMapTest solution. I'm not sure what I missed. I'm sure I have a newer version of Xamarin.Forms.Platform.iOS in my project, but I'm at a lost as to where to go from here.

I'm also getting this error in the same file:

The type 'System.Drawing.RectangleF' exists in both 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Reference Assemblies\Microsoft\Framework\Xamarin.iOS\v1.0\Xamarin.iOS.dll' and ...'monotouch.dll'

on this line of code
SetNativeControl(new MKMapView(RectangleF.Empty));

Looks like they moved things around a bit since I last looked at this. Although I'm not quite sure and it's a bit tricky to check without a license available to me, it looks like maybe the namespaces have moved around a bit since the Unified API became available. What you can try is remove the using(s) for the MKMapView in ExtendedMapRenderer (Using MonoTouch.MapKit ?) and see what Xamarin/VisualStudio (or Resharper if you have it) suggest for the namespace. Another trick that has helped me a view times in the past is update the (appropriate) Xamarin.Forms Nuget packages or remove and re-add them.
