This beta release adds support for the ModRetro M64 controller, including secure Bluetooth pairing, N64 button mapping, and rumble.

  • Add M64-specific N64 button and joystick mapping.
  • Add M64 Rumble Pak support using the controller's BLE HID haptics output.

Installation

Download the appropriate HW1 or HW2 archive and install the firmware using the BlueRetro OTA firmware update page.

See the BlueRetro wiki for configuration, firmware-update, and troubleshooting instructions.

Compatibility: M64 support has only been tested with the hw1 N64 firmware. Other systems are currently untested.

Recovery: If the updated firmware causes problems, hold the adapter button for 30 seconds to restore the factory firmware.

Tested on an HW1 N64 adapter with a ModRetro M64 controller. Pairing, reconnection, buttons, joystick, browser OTA updates, firmware downloads, and Rumble Pak operation were verified.
