[ISSUE] Blueprint does not trigger (Schlage Encode)

What happened?

The integration seems to be working. It is pushing out the Pins pet the Slot designation. I have recently downloaded the Notify Blueprint. I have tested it several times. The blueprint automation is not triggering.

I am attaching a screen print from one of the Slots. Is the problem that the Condo Code slot 1 is listed as unavailable under the Events section? I have never seen it show up any differently.

Steps to reproduce the issue

1. Verify pins has been updated
2. Enter pin into lock
3. Wait for notification (nothing)
4. Check the blueprint automation inn HA
5. Select trace on the automation. (No trace available since it did not trigger)

Some additional information. I will attach screen copies for the Schlage iOS app history. You can see the pin was entered successfully.

Also - Question: why am I seeing the Access Code Deleted and Access Code Added every 5 minutes?

Thanks for the detailed report. The debug logs show the sync manager is stuck waiting for the code sensor entity to have a valid state. The log Waiting for code state means the code sensor for slot 2 on both locks is still in STATE_UNKNOWN — the coordinator either hasn't returned data for that slot or the sensor entity hasn't been created yet.

A few questions to help diagnose:

1. What does the code sensor entity show? In Developer Tools → States, search for the code sensor entities for slot 2 on both locks. They should look like sensor.<lock_name>_code_slot_2. What state do they show?

2. Is slot 2 the first slot you configured? Or was slot 1 configured first and slot 2 added later? (This matters because the coordinator may not have data for slot 2 if it wasn't in the initial poll.)

3. Have you tried reloading the LCM config entry? Go to Settings → Devices & Integrations → Lock Code Manager → ... menu → Reload. This forces a fresh coordinator poll which should populate the code sensor.

4. For the event entity being unavailable: Schlage locks don't support code slot events (they don't report which code was used to lock/unlock). This is expected — the event entity will show as unavailable for Schlage. Blueprints that trigger on PIN-used events won't work with Schlage because the lock hardware doesn't provide that information. The Schlage wiki page documents this limitation.

If reloading doesn't help, could you share the output of Developer Tools → States for all entities matching sensor.*code_slot* for your locks?

Thanks for the follow-up info. A few things going on here:

The sync is working after enabling

The logs show slots 1-3 are being set on both locks after you enabled them. That's expected — LCM detects the slots are out of sync and pushes the PINs.

"Waiting for code state" for disabled slots

When a slot is disabled (enabled switch off), the code sensor stays in STATE_UNKNOWN because the coordinator doesn't have data for unused slots. The sync manager logs "Waiting for code state" every 5 seconds for these disabled slots. This is a known issue we're fixing — disabled slots shouldn't need the code sensor to have data. This does not affect slot 1 which is enabled and working.

Access Code Deleted / Added every 5 minutes

This is a known Schlage limitation. Schlage returns masked PINs (****) — LCM can't verify the actual PIN matches what was configured. On every poll cycle (5 minutes), the masked code doesn't match, so LCM re-sets the code. This is documented on the Schlage wiki page:

PINs are write-only: LCM cannot verify the actual PIN on the lock.

Unfortunately there's no way around this with the Schlage cloud API — it's a hardware/cloud limitation.

Blueprint not triggering

The event entity showing as unavailable is expected for Schlage locks. Schlage does not report which code slot was used to lock/unlock. The Schlage wiki documents this:

Code slot events: No — Schlage does not report which code was used

The Slot Usage Limiter and notification blueprints require code slot events to trigger, which Schlage locks cannot provide. You would need to use a different automation approach — for example, triggering on the lock state change (locked → unlocked) without knowing which code was used.

Summary

• ✅ PINs are syncing correctly to the lock
• ⚠️ Codes re-set every 5 minutes (Schlage limitation — masked PINs)
• ❌ PIN-used blueprints won't work (Schlage limitation — no code events)

sorry that was Claude responding on my behalf - to clarify, LCM should not be trying to sync the pin every five minutes. That was a bug that should have been addressed but let's fix everything else and release it and then see if this issue still exists
