White screen on IOS & android

Bug description:

А white screen is displayed instead of the site in webview.

To Reproduce:

On ios, the problem is reproduced in the same way like in this issue: ##2298 (comment) (when returning to the active state from the background mode), but the suggested solutions don't work.

Also the problem with the white screen is reproduced on ios and android when opening the application sometimes on some phones, it is played unstable.

Expected behavior:

Stable display of the site in webview.

Long shot, but when we had this issue on Android, it was actually due to the website trying to load a javascript module from an insecure resource, so the underlying page was refusing to load getting NET::ERR_CLEARTEXT_NOT_PERMITTED error.

If you can replicate your issue on Android emulator, you could try inspecting the webview with chrome://inspect, it might reveal something more?
It should show up as WebView in your.app.package in the chrome://inspect view if you're using Hermes

i solved this issue in android side coz i got only issue there

Software rendering forces the WebView to be drawn entirely in software (CPU) instead of using hardware acceleration (GPU).
This mode can help fix flickering or blank screen issues that might arise when WebView returns to the screen, as it avoids certain GPU-related bugs common on lower-end devices or older Android versions.
Pros: More consistent rendering, potentially fewer visual glitches, especially on devices with limited GPU capabilities.
Cons: Software rendering can be slower than hardware, consuming more CPU resources, which may drain the battery faster and lead to lower performance on complex visual content.

Solved my blank screen issue on iOS (Expo / React Native WebView)

I spent hours debugging a white screen / blank WebView issue on iOS Simulator and device.
No logs, no crashes — just an empty WebView.

The fix was simply a version mismatch between React, React Native and react-native-webview.

💡 Working version combination (confirmed):

"react": "19.1.0",
"react-native": "0.81.0",
"react-native-webview": "13.15.0"

After upgrading to react-native-webview@13.15.0, the WebView started working immediately on iOS.

Why this works?

RN 0.81 uses the updated JSI/New Architecture initialization.

WebView versions ≤ 13.13.x have compatibility issues with RN 0.79–0.80 on iOS.

Version 13.15.0 contains fixes that allow WebView to initialize properly under RN 0.81 + React 19.

If anyone has a blank WebView with no error in console, try upgrading to 13.15.0 (or newer) and make sure your React/RN versions line up correctly.
