Feature Request: Add "Scan / Import Existing Files" for Local Downloads #2537

Description

Describe your suggested feature

Currently, Cloudstream only lists downloads that were created and registered by the app itself.

If video files are manually restored or copied into the selected download folder (via SAF / folder picker), they are not detected or indexed. The Downloads tab remains empty even though the files exist and are playable through other apps.

There is currently no way to rescan or rebuild the internal download index from existing files in the selected directory.

This causes unnecessary re-downloading when:

  • An SD card is repaired or reformatted
  • Files are restored from backup
  • Users migrate to a new device
  • Media is copied from PC to phone

Other details

Suggested Improvement:

Add one of the following:

  • A "Scan Folder" button
  • An "Import Existing Files" option
  • Automatic re-indexing of the selected download directory

Expected behavior:

  • Scan the selected SAF folder
  • Detect valid video files (.mp4, .mkv, etc.)
  • Register them in the local downloads list
  • Allow playback using the internal player

Benefits:

  • Prevent unnecessary re-downloads
  • Improve SD card resilience
  • Support backup and restore workflows
  • Improve device migration experience
  • Better support for portable storage users

Acknowledgements

  • My suggestion is NOT about adding a new provider
  • I have searched the existing issues and this is a new ticket, NOT a duplicate or related to another open issue.
