Intent to Contribute Full-Time to Redis – Seeking Guidance and Future Possibilities

Dear Redis Maintainers and Community,

I recently resigned from my previous role and am now looking forward to dedicating my time to contributing full-time to the Redis project—initially as a passionate open-source contributor. I’ve long admired Redis and would consider it an incredible opportunity to contribute meaningfully to such an impactful project.

I have a few questions and would appreciate any guidance from maintainers, community managers, or experienced contributors:

Support and Mentorship While Contributing:
If I encounter significant challenges or complex issues that I’m unable to resolve independently, would there be someone (perhaps a maintainer or community member) available to help guide me through them? I'm fully committed to learning and contributing at my best, and I want to ensure I can provide value without becoming a bottleneck.

Adding the Most Value:
I’d love to understand how I can make the most meaningful contributions to Redis. Are there specific areas, issues, or features that need attention or improvement? Is there a roadmap or list of high-priority tasks that I could work on to help advance Redis meaningfully?

Future Possibility of Paid Work:
While I am contributing purely out of interest and enthusiasm for Redis and the open-source community, I’m also curious about the potential for joining Redis Labs (or any associated organization) in a full-time paid capacity in the future. If such an opportunity exists, what qualifications or contributions are typically considered when bringing someone on board?

Once again, I want to emphasize that I’m not contributing solely in hopes of a paid role—I’m here because I truly believe in Redis and want to help it grow in any way I can. Getting to be a part of this amazing ecosystem is already a huge reward in itself.

I do have quite a bit of experience of development work, not gonna be much trouble / or ask for help again and again, just want to know if sommeone is there to guide me when I need it, I dont want to create completely one sided association
