I get an error message when trying to integrate the itho_amber custom component.

I've added the itho_amber folder in the custom_components folder. The amber shows up in the integrations.

when i press it it gives me the next error:

Im on HA version 2023.8.04.

Is there a reason, that you are not ussing the latets HA version?
I cannot recreate the issue, al my installs running the latest. Not even sure I can get that 2023-8 install.

The type of error you get make me suggest that the changed a handler or added one.

Try, remover the files and install trough HACS
You can also manual add a repository, see the readme

I haven't managed to receive data from the Amber to Home Assistant.

I can reach my waveshare converter by the webportal. When i try telnet i can make a connection but i don't receive data. With a modbus scanner i also do not get data.

The waveshare leds:
PWR - Red (constant on)
Link - Blue (constant on)
Act - Blue (constant on)

If i switch the a and b wires the Act light is off so i think the connection is ok. connected to pin 7 & 8.

Questions:

• What ip adresses should be on the gateway and Destination? i filled the router ip but also tried the HA IP Address and some not used ip adresses.
• Where should the RS485 wires be connected? At first i put the wires parallel to the 2 wires connected to the circuitboard. In this case the Act light was blinking blue. One minute later i saw that i had to change this to pin 7 & 8. havent tried to connect to the first situation but i find it strange.
• Amber version is V2.26. Is the version even compatible?

The gateway should be your router address, but the integration is only local. so it is not important.
the destination address is not used.
The RS485 wires are connected to pin 7 and 8, the wires on top are for internal Modbus and can not be used.
if not working put wire from pin 7 to 8 and 8 to 7.
As far as I know the only settings not working on V2.26 are the heatcurve 1 and 2, in version 2.29 the can be set and in 2.26 read only.
although the integration has sliders, the settings are never updated.

the act led should be blinking in the same time as the polling time, if not changed every 10 sec.

The Act led is continuesly on, and not blinking every 10 seconds. Settings from above are still applied where 192.168.1.1 is the router.

when i switch the wires the act led stays off so this is not okay i guess. I'm not sure if i waited for more than 10 seconds to see if it blinks.

Continous act led is not good.
Changed wires en reset module HA and Amber

The activity led lights up on modbus activity.
In case of the integration every 10 seconds.
