  • Language Switcher: the dropdown's button is named after what it shows ("FR, Français"), so voice control users can say it.

  • Language Switcher: Align centre and right now move the links; the block is full width, so they did nothing.
  • Language Switcher: Justify items also works in the editor.
  • Language Switcher: clicking a language in the editor selects the block instead of opening that page.

Tables, links per language, and a dropdown language switcher.

  • Tables are translated cell by cell, like any other text (WordPress 6.9 and later: earlier versions don't mark table cells as content). Numbers, prices and codes without words no longer count as untranslated.
  • Links per language: while translating, a button's, menu item's, social icon's, image's or file's link is stored for that language only, so a French page can link to a French booking page. Links you don't change stay the same everywhere and never count as untranslated.
  • Language Switcher: show it as a dropdown (for headers) or as a horizontal or vertical list. The dropdown opens on hover and by keyboard, with no script.
  • Fix: typing a translation now also works in blocks that update their attributes through a function, like the table in WordPress 7.
  • Fix: switching the default language swaps the same text twice in one block (two equal table cells) once for both.

Not supported yet: the labels of the Tabs block (see the readme).

Requires WordPress 6.6+ and PHP 7.4+. Tested up to WordPress 7.1 and PHP 8.5.

Classic themes, and documentation for theme authors.

  • Classic menus: menus from Appearance → Menus get a navigation label, title attribute and (custom links) address per language. Items without their own label show the translated page title; custom links to the site go to the same language.
  • Archive links (categories, tags, date and author archives, search, page 2 of lists) follow the language of the page.
  • Theme compatibility section in the readme, and a guide for theme authors: docs/themes.md.
  • The editor script is no longer loaded on the widgets screen.
  • Language packs are only downloaded when you save the settings screen, never when settings change from code (switching the default language, WP-CLI).

Requires WordPress 6.6+ and PHP 7.4+. Tested up to WordPress 7.1 and PHP 8.5.
