Hi there, We appreciate the effort you put into creating a reproduction. But your reproduction is not minimal yet, or is missing fields we ask for in our template. Please re-read the steps and documentation given in the previous message, and try again to create a minimal reproduction. Thanks, the Renovate team |

Summary:
When grouping multiple deps with the same
repoNameandnotesSourceUrlchangelogs are only shown for a single dep. Background:
We like to use renovate to update Helm charts and the docker images within them to get changelogs for both, i.e. the Helm chart and the application itself.
In this example, we would like to get changelogs for the ingress-nginx Helm chart and the ingress-nginx-controller docker image. Because they need to be updated together, we group them in a single renovate PR by using
packageRules.Unfortunately this breaks the changelogs, because the release notes for both the docker image and the helm chart are within a single GitHub repo in the case of ingress-nginx.
We created a minimal example here: https://github.com/philipfreude/ingress-nginx-renovate
Technical details:
The first issue to overcome in this example was this check, by setting a
sourceDirectoryfor at least one of the deps. However, the release note deduplication via the
releaseNotesSourceshere seems to be not configurable at all.In the ingress-nginx example the value of
releaseNotesSourcesis"https://api.github.com/repos/kubernetes/ingress-nginx/releases"for both deps, as constructed here. There was a similar issue #10954 a while back, but it was solved by introducing the
releaseNotesSourcesand it only works if there are multipleChangelog.mdfor each of the deps. In the case of ingress-nginx the release notes are just within the GitHub releases itself, so thereleaseNotesSourcesis identical in both cases.Any suggestions on how to get changelogs for both deps, while still keeping them grouped?
