RetroHrai! v0.4.2-alpha04 is a feature-packed update - adding a random game slot machine, last played game cards, new platform browser customization options, and dual-screen improvements

The alpha version is for testing and may contain bugs. Do not install if you want to be on the most stable version of the app!

Be careful and export a backup in the Settings > General > Backups first before updating!

What's New

Platform Browser Slides View

  • Random Game Slot Machine: Spin to pick a random game from the current platform with a slot machine reel animation and sound effect. Use the on-screen button or press L1/L2 on your gamepad
  • Last Played Game Card: Shows your most recently played game on the platform card with a blurred background effect. Press R1/R2 to instantly launch it

New Slides View Settings:

Full control over what shows on your platform cards:

  • Show/hide game count
  • Show/hide random game button
  • Show/hide games preview (Shows up to 5 Favorites from the platform, if none - 5 first games)
  • Show/hide last played game
  • Show/hide platform background

Dual Screen

  • Wall View widget now automatically displays a variation of the Platform Browser Slides View on the secondary screen when Grid view is selected on main screen
  • Improved the behavior of the secondary screen when launching games to better represent the currently active game
  • Last Played Games can now be launched directly from the Wall View widget with full animation and sound support

Emulator & Platform Support

  • Updated launch arguments and configurations across 80+ platforms to be more up to date
  • Improved support for Windows, 3DS, Primehack (GameCube/Wii), and PizzaBoy emulators
  • New platforms: idTech4A++, Sega Model 3, Triforce
  • All app and emulator launches now transition seamlessly without Android's default slide animation

Performance

  • Larger memory cache and optimized image preloading for big game collections
  • Smarter cover art prefetching based on your position in the platform list
  • Reduced unnecessary UI redraws in the platform browser
