Rotate object about its center

Oftentimes, I want to test what would happen in a scenario where a lens is rotated by some fixed angle about its center while keeping its length fixed. It is possible to study this by hand-rotating the lens, but this pivots the lens about one of its end points, then making it laborious to shift and adjust the length of the lens to the simulate rotation about the center. Is it possible to realize this functionality?
