Any Release Timeline

First and foremost, well done! The lib is insanely fast.

Any rough timeline you have for releasing a production ready version? Anything we can help with?
If decided, we're gonna use this in our production. So we're happy to support with anything we can.
In case it matters, we don't mind API breaking changes, as long as the correctness of the data is not compromised.

First, thanks for your kind words! I really appreciate it.

tzfpy has already performed well in my current company's production environment without any real performance issues.
If you plan to use it in production, the latest version should be totally fine.
Regarding the Python binding tzfpy, I currently have no plans to introduce any breaking changes.

Unfinished Work:

As mentioned in the README, there are still some improvements to be made. You can track all related to-dos in ringsaturn/tzf#102.
That issue was originally my target for 2023, but I didn’t have time to finish it, and I can't guarantee when I will be able to complete it, since I need to balance my personal life and other projects.

The Rust project tzf-rs also needs some performance improvements to align with the original Go project tzf, which uses RTree to improve point-in-polygon query performance.
Tidwall also published tg, which uses a more efficient algorithm for point-in-polygon queries.

Right now, I’m considering two approaches:

1. Continue optimizing RTree for performance improvements.
2. Use tg instead, but it's written in C, which I am not very familiar with.

Any thoughts or contributions on this are welcome!

Timeline for a Production-Ready Version:

The current API should be considered stable, and I’m considering releasing v1.0.0 for tzf, tzf-rs, and tzfpy, most likely alongside the next tzdata release (2025b).
That being said, the current latest version should already be good for production use.

Since you mentioned being happy to help, if you're interested in contributing, feel free to check out the open issues! I’d appreciate any feedback, benchmarks, or code contributions.

Hi, sorry for the late reply. And congrats on releasing the first version 💪 Well done!
As for the contribution (and this is gonna be embarrassing), I'm not really qualified to be able to work or help on those topics 🙈 . I'll keep an eye out for anything aligned with my expertise so that I can contribute.
As for the feedback and benchmarks, we definitely share as soon as we're live with this library. Right now the priority changed a bit. Will keep you posted.
