About dialog

@RaiKoHoff I got stuck trying to replicate the above about dialog. 😢 I tried using the RichEdit Control 2.0, but it looks like that just won't cut it. (Looks like the best would be using a html or RichEdit 4.0 control) I know you are extremely busy and do not want to bother you with this task, but sometime in the future, if you have some spare time, could you help us replicate the about box as per example. So that I can get the Copyrights and Credits done.

@rizonesoft : yes that could be. Having active Hyperlink hotspots in the document is no easy task, maybe C# .NET framework has build-ins for that. Maybe a read-only Scintilla editor control can do ? If i find some time, I will take care for it 😁

The existing Help -> About dialogue has working hyperlinks. Where does the problem lie? Is it in having a scrollable window?

@craigo- Yes, the scrollable window. Using static text for each line will be an issue I think.

I just stumbled across ShareX's 'about' page, which looks like it's doing what we want. AutoIt's window inspector seems to believe the scrollable window with hyperlinks is a RichEdit2 control:

When you redo the About dialog, please make sure it's easy to copy the version information from it to the system Clipboard. Otherwise it's inconvenient to write good bug reports. The preferred method would be to select and Ctrl-C/Ctrl-Ins the text, but an explicit "Copy" button would work as well.

I did a "smoke test" on Win10 only. Currently I an using RichEditCtrl v.4.1, hope it works on Win7.
Maybe I can go for RichEditW20, will check tomorrow ...

@RaiKoHoff It looks amazing. I Only have Windows 10 on my PC at the moment. Will install Win 7 VM and give it another test.

I like it a lot, @RaiKoHoff. The look is clean, and the added ability to copy the text (by traditional means or by the button) is great.

Have just tested on Windows 7 Pro x64 - appearance and functionality look good:

Is there a reason for the longstanding double space between "(64-bit)" and the version number? It triggers my OCD!

Some minor typographical comments.

1. There are two spaces between the text "(64-bit)" and the version number text. (@craigo-, you were literally several seconds ahead of me on this one!)
2. Within just this one screenshot I see the following conventions being used to represent the version number of a piece of software:

• no prefix, simply the version numbers;
• the "Version: " prefix for Scintilla;
• the "v." prefix for the RegEx component;
• the "Ver. " prefix for the Microsoft compiler version.

It would be nice if there was a single and consistent way to write the version numbers. My favorite format that I'd like to suggest is not represented here. It's the simple "v" prefix (no dot) as in: "v1.0".

These are all minor things, feel free to ignore my comments : ))
Especially since I suspect that some of the components are reporting their version strings themselves.
