The standalone from byo_gui_softbuffer does not render on Linux

The byo_gui_softbuffer example from #185 works as a plugin, but the standalone does not render correctly on KDE Plasma Wayland. Not quite sure why that could be.

Hmm, the standalone version works correctly on my machine, and I'm running KDE Plasma on Wayland.

What kind of graphics card are you using? I'm using an AMD GPU.

When you say "it does not render correctly", what do you mean?

Oh wait, actually the window has a transparent background. I didn't notice it at first since I was looking at it against a solid background.

I'm also getting a transparent background in KDE X11. The background is not transparent when I tried it in Cosmic, so it appears to be a KDE-related issue.
